Augustana Signs Four Area Wrestlers Including Three Generals

sibley ocheyedan school logoSioux Falls South Dakota — Augustana University head wrestling coach Jason Reitmeier has announced the signing of four student-athletes for the 2017-18 season.

The four include Sibley Ocheyedan team mates Trent Kruger, Matthew Naig and Dylan Schuck along with Brayden Curry of Sergeant Bluff Luton.

 

Trent Kruger who is projected to wrestle at 184 or 197 has a record of 134-22 to date in high school placed sixth at state as a junior. He qualified for state as a sophomore and has led his team in takedowns the last three years and has 285 career takedowns. Kruger is a three-time letterwinner and three-time team captain.

The son of Kevin and Gina Kruger he plans to major in Chemistry.

 

Matthew Naig is projected to wrestle at heavy weight and has a record of 120-30 to date in high school. He was twice named first team All-Conference finishing fifth at state as a junior and sixth as a sophomore. Naig was voted Most Valuable Wrestler his junior season. He is a four-time letterwinner and four-time team captain.

The son of Doyle and Jean Naig he plans to major in Special Education.

 

Dylan Schuck is projected to wrestle at 149 or 157 at the collegiate level. He has achieved over 100 wins and 100 pins in his high school career. He has broken the school record in career pins, pins in a season and wins in a season. Schuck has twice been named first team All-Conference. He is a four-time letterwinner, four-time team captain, three-time Ironman Award winner and three-time Most Valuable Wrestler for the Generals.

The son of Jed and Shelley Schuck he plans to major in Psychology and Biology with minors in Entrepreneurship and Business Administration with aspirations of going into the field of Orthopedics.
