NWC Baseball Earns No.6 Seed; Headed To Jamestown Bracket

Northwestern College is the No.6 seed in the upcoming Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Postseason Tournament announced by the league office.

The Red Raiders finished sixth in the GPAC regular season with a 15-13 record and will head to Jamestown, N.D. to play in the four-team Jamestown Bracket. Northwestern will open postseason play against No.3 Midland (Neb.) in the first game at 3pm on Thursday, May 2. The other half of the Jamestown bracket will feature the host Jimmies as the No.2 seed going against No.7 Morningside at 6pm.

The four-team, double-elimination bracket will conclude on Saturday afternoon with the winner advancing to the GPAC Championship game against the winner of the Concordia Bracket in a one-game, winner-take-all title game on Tuesday night at the highest remaining seed.

Concordia, the GPAC regular season champion with a 23-5 league record, serves as the other host of the four-team Concordia bracket. The Bulldogs will play No.8 Doane at 6pm Thursday night, immediately after the first game between No.4 Dakota Wesleyan and No.5 Mount Marty.

Northwestern, under the direction of Head Coach Brian Wede, is the defending GPAC postseason tournament champion.
