BHRV Cruises In Playoff Win

Hull, Iowa — Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley made quick work of Sioux Center in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs 49-7 Friday night at AR Hesla Field in Hull.

Landyn Van Kekerix scored the first 5 touchdowns for Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley scoring on runs of 9 yards, 4 yards, 8 yards, a 19 yard reception, and 38 yard reception and put the Nighthawks in front 35-0 at the half. The Nighthawk defense had two takeaways and held Sioux Center to under 50 yards of total offense in the first half, and great punt returns by Vance Katzfey and Caleb Kats set up short fields in the opening quarters as well.

The Nighthawks took the opening drive of the second half down the field and Tanner Te Slaa found Sam Remmerde wide open for the 35 yard touchdown reception to make it 42-0, and in the 4th quarter, Lane Schmidt found the endzone from 2 yards out. Sioux Center got onto the board with 6:46 left in the game when Caden Plasier scored from two yards out. Your final would be 49-7.

With the win BHRV improves to 10-0 and will face Sergeant Bluff-Luton in Rock Valley. Sioux Center’s season comes to an end at 5-5.
