Bos Named The “Dave Rebstock” SID Of The Year

Sioux City, Iowa — Former Northwestern College Sports Information Director and current Assistant Director of Athletic Communications for Dordt University, Matt Bos has been selected as the 2020-21 Dave Rebstock/Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Sports Information Director (SID) of the Year presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports. This is the second time Bos has been honored as the winner of the “The Rebby” award. A vote of the league’s sports information directors determined the winner.

Bos finished 17 years at Northwestern where he ran all aspects of the sports information office. He was the voice of the Red Raiders, broadcasting all home events in addition to maintaining the website, composing press releases, managing the social media accounts and overseeing the work-study students.

Bos has been a tremendous asset to both the GPAC and the NAIA while serving in his role at Northwestern. Not only has he invested many hours promoting the Red Raiders but he has lent a helping hand for the GPAC and the NAIA at their Championship events.

He recently was the voice of the NAIA Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championships on the NAIA Network as well as the voice of the NAIA Volleyball Championship in Sioux City, Iowa, on ESPN 3. For his efforts in Sioux City, he was the 2020 recipient of the “Play for Pat” Award from his peers.

He is currently serving as the Assistant Sports Information Director at his Alma Mater, Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, and will work closely with the expansion of the Dordt Media Network at Dordt University.

“Bos is a consummate professional in the sports information field,” said GPAC Commissioner Corey Westra. “He is a multi-talented individual who is constantly looking for the best way to promote his teams and he never hesitates to help out at the national level as well.”

Bos will be the GPAC nominee for the NAIA Sports Information Director of the Year.
