Brasser To Run For Northwestern

Orange City, Iowa —Peyton Brasser, of Paullina, has signed a letter of intent to continue his cross country and track and field careers at Northwestern College next year.

Brasser is a four-sports standout who has earned seven letters running for the South O’Brien High School cross country and track and field teams. Brasser is a two-time state qualifier in cross country, finishing 26th at state his senior year. He won the War Eagle Conference Individual championship last fall and earned all-conference honors (top 15 at conference meet) two years. Brasser finished 14th overall at the Iowa Track and Field Senior All-State meet.

In track, Brasser has qualified for state three years heading into the spring season, finishing fifth as a member of the 4×800 relay and distance medley as a sophomore. He also qualified for state in the 1600m and has been all-conference in multiple events all three years. Brasser has personal bests of 4:41 in the 1600m and 16:41 in the 5K. An all-conference selection in both basketball and baseball and all-state in basketball, Brasser has been on the honor roll all four years and is academic all-state. He plans to major in Business Education at Northwestern and is the son of Kevin and Karen.

“Peyton is a welcome addition to both our men’s cross country and track and field teams,” commented Northwestern head coach Scott Bahrke. “We are thrilled for him to bring his gifts and talents to our program(s). Peyton is an outstanding teammate and talented runner. I am excited to see him grow as a runner and as a young man over the next four years as a Red Raider.”
