(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following baseball player and pitcher-of-the-week for contests played April 5-11, 2021. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2020-2021 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Pitcher – Jacob Wesselmann, Briar Cliff University
Jacob Wesselmann of the Briar Cliff is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports pitcher-of-the-week. Wesselmann, a senior from Remsen, Iowa, struck out nine batters, walked just one and allowed only two hits in a complete game (seven inning) 8-0 win over No. 20 Concordia. He held the Bulldogs to a .095 average in the contest, compared to its .347 season average.
