Silvis, Illinois — Masters and Open Champion Zach Johnson says playing in the John Deere Classic is like returning home.
The Cedar Rapids native has 12 wins on the PGA Tour, including a win in the Quad Cities in 2012.
Johnson says the tournament has been a big part of his career.
Steve Stricker will be looking to reclaim some magic beginning Thursday morning at the John Deere Classic. It has been 10 years since the 54-year-old Stricker completed his run to a third straight win in the Quad Cities.
Stricker could have played at the US Senior Open this week.
Daniel Berger is the only player ranked in the World’s top 25 to take part. He has one PGA Tour win this season and six top ten finishes.
Berger says it will be a good tune up for next week’s Open Championship.
