Top seed Central Lyon will play for the Class 2A championship following a 57-51 semifinal win Thursday morning over #4 seed Pella Christian.
The Lions will take a 23-2 record into the title game against #2 seed Rock Valley.
Central Lyon made four three pointers in the opening quarter to build a 21-13 advantage after one.
They were up 27-23 at the half pushed that to a 10 point advantage 43-33 after three as they get the win 57-51.
Central Lyon coach Ben Gerleman said his team set the tone with defense.
In a close game the only significant edge was at the free throw line as the Lions went 17 of 22 for 77 percent for the game. Pella Christian was perfect at the line but only got there 5 times in the contest. Central Lyon sealed the win at the line with Zach Lutmer and Mason Gerleman combining to go 6 of 8 in the final 1:25.
Cooper Spies led the offense with 15 points. Lutmer was in double figures with 10. Gerleman finished with 9. Levi Schelhaas led Pella Christian with 16 points. Six-nine center Eric Mulder led Pella Christian with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Tysen DeVries joined him in double figures with 10 points.
With the win Central Lyon is on to the Championship on Friday with a 23-2 record. Pella Christian finishes at 19-6. Tip off is set for 3:00 pm.
