Chargers Stumble In Second Half, Fall To #9 Indiana Wesleyan

The Chargers were unable to build off a strong first half Friday evening, dropping a nonconference contest against #9 Indiana Wesleyan 83-58.

The Chargers started off strong with a 37-31 lead going into halftime. The Cliff held their largest lead of the game by 12 late in the first half. Kyle Boerhave started the night strong going 4-for-4 from the field to lead the Chargers with nine points. Sammy Green was also an efficient 3-for-4 from the 3-point line with nine points. Quienten Vasa dished out three assists in the opening 20 minutes.

The Chargers would stumble in the second half shooting 21.7 percent while also accounting for six turnovers. Indiana Wesleyan would go on to shoot an efficient 53 percent from the field while converting 45 percent from three point land. Boerhave again led the Chargers with six points on the half, followed by Jaden Kleinhesselink’s six points.

Boerhave led the Chargers with 15 points to go with three rebounds and three assists. Kleinhesselink finished with 11 points and three rebounds and went 8-for-8 from the charity stripe. Vasa also contributed 10 points to his three assists.

Indiana Wesleyan was led by Seth Maxwell who posted a game high 18 points to go with six rebounds. He was closely followed by Michael Thompson III with 16 points and eight rebounds.

The Chargers will look to rebound against Indiana University East in Marion, Indiana Saturday at 2:00PM CST.
