COVID-19 Fall Sports Protocols in Place at Sheldon High School

Sheldon Iowa — This Thursday and Friday the Sheldon fall sports regular season begins at Sheldon High School this year. With COVID-19 still a concern some protocols for Friday and the fall sports season have been put in place.

Signage will be in place for fans during the fall seasons for football, cross country and volleyball. We talked with Sheldon Activities Director Eric Maassen.

Maassen described the ultimate goal of the protocols this way.

Volleyball is the only indoor fall sport. So more precautions apply.

Similar to the softball and baseball season information will be posted at the various game sites.

While football is an outdoor sport the guidelines for football fans will be similar to volleyball.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic fall sports participation numbers at Sheldon High School for the most part are actually up.
