Cyclones Fall To TCU, 59-44

AMES, Iowa – Damion Baugh’s 23 points paced TCU (13-3, 3-2 Big 12) to a 59-44 win over No. 15 Iowa State (14-5, 2-5 Big 12) Saturday afternoon in Hilton Coliseum.

Baugh got it done on both ends of the court, making 11-of-17 shots from the field and registering seven of the Horned Frogs’ eight steals to hand the Cyclones just their second loss at home.

ISU couldn’t overcome its poor shooting, making 31.6 percent of its shots, including a 3-of-26 effort from downtown.

Izaiah Brockington was the only Cyclone in double figures, scoring 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting and grabbing a team-high 12 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season.

TCU led 34-23 at the break, ending the first half on a 7-1 run. The Cyclones made just 1-of-10 shots from beyond the arc in the opening period.

ISU opened the second half on a 10-2 run to trim the TCU lead down to three points (36-33) after Tre Jackson buried a 3-pointer from the corner.

TCU answered ISU’s only second-half threat with 10-straight points, however, forging its lead back up to 46-33 with under 10 minutes remaining.
