Defense Lifts Nighthawks to Victory

nighthawk logoHull, Iowa — The Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley Nighthawks came away victorious in Hull against the Western Christian Wolfpack 32-13 Friday Night.

The Nighthawks would get on the board early in the opening quarter. Brett Moser would find Cade Moser on a 27 yard touchdown reception to make the score 7-0 BHRV.

The Wolfpack would find the end zone midway in the 1st. After a Jacob Schafer fumble, Western would drive down the field and Ben Granstra would rush in from 12 yards out to make it 7-7. Shane Solberg and the Nighthawks would score late in the 1st on a 2 yard TD reception making it 14-7. That was set up by a Solberg 79-yard catch and run.

Midway through the 2nd quarter, Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley would turn the ball over on downs, and the very next play Ben Granstra would gallop 80 yards to the house to tighten the game up at 14-13 Nighthawks. With under a minute to go in the 1st half, Brett Moser would pick-off Tyson Kooima and return it to the Wolfpack 42, and two plays later Moser would again connect with Solberg for a 23 yard TD reception, making it 20-13 heading into halftime.

Midway into the 3rd quarter, facing a 4th and 11 deep in Western territory, backup QB JT Van’t Hul would find Cade Moser in the corner of the endzone to make it 26-13 Nighthawks. Coming off of a Western Christian fumble, Van’t Hul would again find the end through the air midway in 4th quarter. This time to Alex Frick from 28 yards out. That score would make it 32-13 Nighthawks and that would be your final.

#2 Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley improves to 1-0 on the year and plays host to #10 West Lyon on Friday, September 2nd.

#2 Western Christian falls to 0-1 on the year and heads to Akron-Westfield.
