Sioux Center, Iowa — Dordt will host Northwestern in GPAC play on Saturday, September 25 with the JV contest beginning at 1:30 and the varsity contest will get underway at 3:00 at the De Witt Gym.
Northwestern is 9-5 this season and stand 1-3 in league play with a win over Morningside in league play and losses to Jamestown (twice) and Dakota Wesleyan. Northwestern has lost of five of its last six contests after starting the year 8-0.
The Raiders are averaging 11.5 kills per set while giving up 11.0 and Northwestern has an 89-47 ace serves edge. The Raiders also get 2.5 points per set on blocks and allow 1.5. Alysen Dexter puts down 3.48 kills per set and Bekah Horstman averages 2.46 with a .316 kill efficiency. Olivia Schaub and Macay Van’t Hul are at 1.63 and 1.32 respectively. The Defenders are 10-3 this season and 2-2 in the league while coming off back to back losses to Jamestown and Dakota Wesleyan. The Defenders average 12.8 kills per set with 12.2 allowed and Dordt has a 68-45 ace serves edge for the season. Dordt also has a 2.2 points per set off of blocks average while opponents get 1.7.
Corrina Timmermans averages 3.8 kills with a .203 kill efficiency and she also gets to 2.3 digs per outing. Jessi Franken has a 2.76 kills per set average and Brenna Krommendyk is averaging 2.5 kills per outing but did not play in Dordt’s most recent contest with Dakota Wesleyan. Alli Timmermans is converting 2.2 kills per contest with Campbell Marshall recording 4.7 assists per outing and Megan Raszler is averaging 5.5. Corrina Timmermans has 21 ace serves to lead the Defenders and Raszler is at 12. Erica Bousema has a 5.5 digs per set average and Krommendyk is averaging 1.3 blocks per set.
Last time out, the Defenders lost to Dakota Wesleyan 21-25, 25-15, 25-19, 25-23 with Jessi Franken recording 16 kills and Corrina Timmermans had 11 with Megan Raszler putting up 19 assists and Erica Bousema recorded 28 digs.
Northwestern lost to Jamestown 25-22, 25-8, 25-22 on Tuesday night with Alysen Dexter getting 11 kills and Bekah Horstman had six while Emily Strasser had 14 digs and Schutt 13.
