Dordt Gets Commitment From Postma

Allison Postma, a senior at Western Christian High School, has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.

“The Defender Women’s Basketball program is excited to announce the addition of Allison Postma to our 2020 recruiting class. Ally has had tremendous success in multiple sports at Western Christian. She will certainly contribute to our women’s basketball team culture and our campus community abroad. We are excited to see the plans God has for Ally at Dordt,” said Dordt head coach Bill Harmsen.

Postma is currently averaging 9.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and is converting 45.8 percent of her three-point shots. Postma averaged 5.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game for Western in 2018-19. Postma was also a standout volleyball player for Western Christian and earned all-conference honors for the Wolfpack.

“I chose Dordt because I know I will be surrounded by an amazing Christian community to help me grow in my faith. I also look forward to being a part of Dordt’s basketball program and culture,” said Postma.

Allison is the daughter of Brad and Brenda Postma of Rock Valley, Iowa.
