Dordt Men At Jamestown Tuesday Night

The Dordt Defender men’s basketball team will travel to face Jamestown on Tuesday, December 8 with tipoff at 8:00 pm.

Jamestown is 7-3 this season and 3-2 in the league with wins over Morningside, Hastings and Doane in league play. The losses for Jamestown are to Northwestern and Mount Marty.

Jamestown outscores teams 86.9-73.6 and outrebound teams 43.1-30.1. Danny Neville’s team is converting 51.5 percent of their field goals and allow opponents to make 42.9. Jamestown also outrebounds teams 43.1-30.1.

The Defender men are 7-3 overall and 3-3 in the GPAC. Dordt’s wins in league play are over Briar Cliff, Midland and Doane and the losses are to Dakota Wesleyan, Concordia and Morningside.

Dordt converts 48.2 percent of its field goals while outscoring teams 79.0-73.0 and outrebound teams 39.2-35.6. Opponents make 43.0 percent of their field goals against Dordt and turnovers are about even through 10 games with Dordt committing 123 and opponents 111.

Garrett Franken scores 16.0 points per game with 8.0 rebounds and he hands out just over two assists per game. Jesse Jansma scores 14.1 points per game with a team high 4.0 assists per game and he is making 44.8 percent of his field goals. Jacob Vis is scoring 12.7 points per game with 7.5 rebounds and he is making 65.3 percent of his field goal tries and has a team high 14 blocked shots. Cade Bleeker adds 10.5 points per game and Bryce Coppock is averaging 8.0. Camden Bialas and Ben Gesink are at 5.1 and 5.0 points per game respectively. Jansma has made 18 three-point shots while Bleeker and Coppock each have 15.

Dordt will host Hastings on Saturday, December 12 and Northwestern on Wednesday, December 16.
