The Dordt Defender men’s basketball team couldn’t keep up with a hot-shooting Jamestown team on Tuesday night and lost a 91-74 GPAC decision on the road.
Dordt led 7-5 after a Jacob Vis basket but Jamestown scored the next five points as both teams heated up from the floor. A DeJay Fykstra basket with 10:16 left in the half for a 28-26 deficit. Dordt eventually battled back from a 32-26 deficit and led briefly at 33-32 with Cade Bleeker cashing in on a pair of free throws.
The Defenders were down 46-42 at halftime and Ben Gesink scored three straight baskets to tie the game at 46 and 48. A 6-0 run by the Jimmies put them ahead for good and extended the lead to as much as 21 before the final of 91-74.
Dordt will host Hastings on Saturday at 4:00 pm.
