The Dordt Defender men’s basketball team will host Doane on Saturday, December 5 at 4:00.
The Doane Tigers are 4-5 overall and 1-3 in the league and stopped a three game losing skid with a 68-65 win at home against Midland. Jamestown, Mount Marty and Concordia all beat Doane from November 25-30 after the Tigers took a three week break.
Anthony Laravie leads the team with a 14.2 points per game average and Carson Busch scores 10.5 points per game. Ben Moxness adds 9.6 points per game with 5.0 rebounds and Jaxon Harre and Trey Winkler each have an 8.4 points per game average.
The Defender men are 6-3 overall and 2-3 in the GPAC. Dordt’s wins in league play are over Briar Cliff and Midland and the losses are to Dakota Wesleyan, Concordia and Morningside.
Dordt converts 48 percent of its field goals while outscoring teams 79.7-73.8 and outrebound teams 38.4-36. Opponents make 43.8 percent of their field goals against Dordt turnovers are about even through nine games with Drodt committing 110 and opponents 103.
Garrett Franken scores 15.9 points per game with 7.6 rebounds and he hands out just over two assists per game. Jesse Jansma scores 14.1 points per game with a team high 4.0 assists per game and he is making 45.8 percent of his field goals. Jacob Vis is scoring 12.9 points per game with 7.2 rebounds and he is making 64.6 percent of his field goal tries and has a team high 13 blocked shots. Cade Bleeker adds 10.6 points per game and Bryce Coppock is averaging 8.4. Camden Bialas and Ben Gesink are at 4.9 points per game each and Dejay Fykstra is averaging 4.7.
Dordt will travel to Jamestown on Tuesday, December 8.
