Dordt Men’s Basketball Has Saturday Appointment In Hastings

Dordt will travel to Hastings to face the Broncos on Saturday, January 29 starting at 2:00. The change in scheduling is to accommodate a special event recognizing Hastings’s national championship teams.

HASTINGS
The Bronco men are 6-17 this season and 1-12 in league play and have lost 14 games in a row since a November 20 win over Mount Marty.

Karson Gansebom leads the team with a 16.7 points per game and he has made a team high 65 three-point shots and is converting 37 percent of his field goals. Dashawn Walker adds 15.3 points per game with 6.2 rebounds and TJ Babikir has an 11.3 points per game average with 42 made three-point shots. Mathias Nchekwubetakes in a team best 7.1 rebounds per game and scores 8.6 points per game.

Hastings is making 43 percent of its field goals and is even in rebounding 36-36 per game. The Broncos have been outscored on average 78-72.

The Defenders are 15-7 this season and 7-6 in the conference and have won back to back games over Midland and Dakota Wesleyan.

LAST TIME
The Broncos trailed Concordia 40-19 at halftime and managed to cut into the lead in the second half, getting within 65-61 with 4:48 left in the game but got no closer in falling 82-68. The Broncos made 24-64 field goals and held Concordia to 30-69 success but got outrebounded 46-35. Dashawn Walker scored 20 with 10 rebounds and Karson Gansebom and Zach Rust had 18 and 17 respectively.

Dordt was an 80-73 winner over Dakota Wesleyan on Wednesday night with Luke Rankin leading the offense with 22 points on 9-10 field goal shooting and he added three assists. Bryce Coppock had 15 while Cade Bleeker and Jackson Louscher had 11 each. Dordt made 54 percent of its field goals and had a 30-29 rebounding edge.
