Dordt Set To Host Morningside In Key GPAC Football Clash

The improving Dordt football program looks to take a huge step on Saturday.

Off to the first 5-1 start in program history the Defenders host defending national champion Morningside looking to forge a tie at the top of the Great Plains Athletic Conference race. Dordt coach Joel Penner.

Dordt’s only loss was a 48-40 setback to Northwestern back on October third.

Penner says this is a huge opportunity for the program.

Penner says a key to their start has been balance on offense. The Defenders averaged 282 yards of rushing per game and 244 yards through the air.

Morningside coach Steve Ryan says Dordt has the look of a contender.

Ryan says the Defender have a much better passing game this season.

After opening the season with a 45-31 win over Northwestern the Mustangs have won their last four games by an average margin of more than 45 points.
