Dordt Sweeps Week 1 GPAC Cross Country Honors

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week for Sept. 5-6, 2020. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2020-2021 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Cross Country Runners-of-the Week

Women – Taylor Anema, Dordt University

Dordt’s Taylor Anema is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Anema, a freshman from Ripon, California, was the top NAIA finisher at the Dordt Sunflower Opener as the Defenders won the meet with 28 points. Anema was running in her first collegiate race and finished fourth overall covering the 5k course in a time of 18:37. The field that included runners from nine GPAC schools and a variety of unattached runners.

Men – Davis Tebben, Dordt University

Davis Tebben of Dordt University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Tebben, a junior from Lansing, Michigan, was the top NAIA finisher as the Defenders narrowly missed a perfect score in the Sunflower Opener on Saturday, September 5. The field included runners from nine GPAC schools. Tebben finished seventh overall in the 122-runner field with a time of 25:40 on the 8k course.
