Dordt Volleyball Faces Critical GPAC Match Saturday

Dordt will play a GPAC match on Saturday, October 10 against Midland in Fremont, Nebraska beginning at 3:30 with the junior varsity match and the varsity match is scheduled for a 5:00 start.

The Midland Warriors are 2-5 in the GPAC and 1-4 overall. The win for Midland in the league is over Doane 3-1 and the non-conference win is over Missouri Baptist. The other losses for Midland in the league are to Concordia (twice), Hastings and Dakota Wesleyan.

Taliyah Flores ahs a team high 3.17 kills per set and has seven service aces and 3.13 digs per outing. Sydney Morehouse averages 2.53 kills per outing and Maggie Hiatt is averaging 2.5 kills per outing with a .216 kill efficiency. Hope Leimbach is putting up 10.17 assists per set and 2.57 digs. Brooke Fredrickson has nine service aces to lead the team.

Midland averages 12.2 kills per set while allowing 11.1. Midland has a 41-27 ace serves advantage and has allowed 2.4 blocks per outing while recording 1.87.

The Defenders are 6-4 overall and 5-4 in the league after falling to Morningside 3-1 on the road Wednesday night.

Dordt is averaging 13.29 kills per set with a .237 kill efficiency and have a 42-28 ace serves edge. The Defenders also record 2.69 points per set on blocks while allowing 11.9 kills per set with 1.4 blocks per outing.

Breanna Krommendyk and Jessi DeJager each have a 2.63 kills per set average to go with 1.23 and 0.86 blocks per set. Karsyn Winterfeld puts in 2.6 kills with 2.8 digs and Alli Timmermans is averaging 2.59 kills with a .372 kill efficiency which is second on the team to Krommendyk’s .392. Corrina Timmermans is putting in 2.23 kills and has a 2.46 digs average.

Hannah Connelly tops the team with 4.89 digs and Megan Raszler is averaging 7.8 assists per set with seven ace serves. Corrina Timmermans and Karsyn Winterfeld have 14 and nine ace serves respectively.

The Defenders will host Hastings on Friday night, October 16 and will meet Doane on October 17.
