Dordt Volleyball Hosts Jamestown Friday

Dordt will play a GPAC match on Friday, September 25 against Jamestown. The JV match will start at 6:00 and the varsity match at 7:30.

Jamestown is its season opener after posting a 33-6 record last season. Jamestown got hot at the end of the season and won the GPAC postseason championship while also advancing to the NAIA National Championship Semifinals.

The Jimmies return Anna Holen with her 1.32 kills per set from last season along wth Corina Huff and 1.97 kills per set. Taylor Sabinash was good for 1.49 kills per set last season. Jackie Meiklejohn was one of the setters in the two-setter offense with 4.86 assists per set. Sydney Ellingson is back after averaging a team high 4.48 digs per outing.

The Defenders are 5-0 after a win over Dakota Wesleyan on Wednesday, September 23 and are 4-0 in GPAC play.

Karsyn Winterfeld has a 3.1 kills per set average with 3.06 digs per outing. Jessi De Jager puts in 2.59 kills per outing and has a .406 kill efficiency. Brenna Krommendyk is at 2.65 kills per set and Corrina Timmermans averages 2.18 kills per set with 2.82 digs per outing. Hannah Connelly leads the team with 4.88 . Megan Raszler and Corina Beimers are at 6.88 and 5.06 assists per set. Dordt averages 13.9 kills per set with a .307 kill efficiency while getting 2.82 points per set on blocks. Dordt also has a 1.47 service ace per set average.

Up next, Dordt will travel to Jamestown on Tuesday, September 29 while Jamestown goes on to play Morningside on Saturday in Sioux City.
