Dordt Volleyball Hosts Mount Marty Tonight

Sioux Center, Iowa — Dordt will host Mount Marty in junior varsity and varsity volleyball action this Friday night, October 15 at the De Witt Gym. The junior varsity contest will start at 6:00 with the varsity to get underway at 7:30.

The Lancers are 7-13 this season and 1-9 in GPAC play with a conference victory over Hastings to their credit on October 1.

The Defenders are 12-6 this season and 4-5 in league play and are rated no. 16 in the most recent NAIA Coaches’ Poll.

Corrina Timmermans leads the team with a 3.65 kills per set average and Jessi Franken’s average is 2.59. Alli Timmermans is good for 2.49 kills per set with a .280 kill efficiency while Grace Langemeier and Danielle Vande Voort are averaging 1.4 and 1.2 kills per set. Megan Raszler averages 6.4 assists per outing and Campbell Marshall adds 4.6. Erica Bousema’s average is 5.7 digs per set.

Dordt is averaging 12.38 kills per contest while allowing 12.26. Dordt has an 86-69 ace serves lead the season on opponents and Dordt accounts for 2.13 points per set on blocks while surrendering 1.77.

Dordt will face the College of Saint Mary on Saturday at 5:00.
