Dordt will be traveling to Midland in Fremont, Nebraska for a GPAC Quarterfinal round contest on Saturday, November 9 at 7:00.
Midland is 18-9 this season and 10-6 in GPAC play. The Warriors started the season with an 8-1 mark and stood 13-3 on September 28. The Warriors then dropped back to back five set matches with Morningside and Doane. Midland also lost 3-2 decision on October 16 and 19 to the College of Saint Mary and Northwestern. Five of Midland’s six losses since September 28 have come by 3-2 counts. The Warriors earned the fourth seed in the GPAC tournament with a 3-2 win over Dordt on Wednesday, November 6.
The Dordt women are 18-10 this season and 9-7 in the GPAC with losses to Northwestern (twice), Jamestown (twice), Concordia, Hastings and Midland in league play.
The Defenders are averaging 13.43 kills per set with a .220 kill efficiency while allowing 11.51 kills per set. Dordt has a 138-95 ace serve advantage and the Defenders generate 2.25 points per set on blocks while allowing 2.1.
The winner of this match will face the winner of the College of Saint Mary-Northwestern match. The semifinal contest would be played on Wednesday, November 13 with the championship match in the tournament scheduled for Saturday, November 16.
