Dordt will travel to Yankton to face the Mount Marty Lancers on Friday night, October 23 and the College of Saint Mary Flames on Saturday afternoon, October 24.
The junior varsity match will start at 6:00 and the varsity will get underway at 7:30 against Mount Marty and the Saturday match will start with junior varsity play at 12:00 and the varsity will follow at 1:30.
Mount Marty’s current safety protocols dictate no visitor fan attendance at indoor athletic contests.
The Mount Marty Lancers are 5-13 entering play and 0-8 in the league. The Lancers were 5-6 through September 19 and then went idle until October 13. Since re-starting play in mid-October the Lancers are 0-6.
Mount Marty is averaging 10.9 kills per set with a .192 kill efficiency and allow opponents 11.1 kills per outing. Teams also have a 2.3-1.5 points on blocks edge against the Lancers and a 111-71 service ace edge this season. Elizabeth Watchorn leads the team with a 3.1 kills per set average and she gets to 3.9 digs per set. Gabby Ruth is putting down 2.9 kills and Mikaela Ahrendt is at 1.59. Molly Brinkman gets to 4.2 digs per set and Amber Miller is averaging 7.3 assists per set.
The Flames are 7-6 entering the weekend and 2-6 in the GPAC. The College of Saint Mary will face Northwestern on Friday night. Entering the weekend the Flames’ wins in league play are over Doane and Mount Marty. The College of Saint Mary had a substantial shutdown from September 19 to October 10 and have gone 0-5 since resuming the schedule on October 10.
The College of Saint Mary is averaging 12.3 kills per set with 11.9 allowed and teams have a .173 kill efficiency against the Flames. The College of Saint Mary has a 61-47 ace serves advantage but is surrendering 2.3 points per set on blocks while getting 1.81.
The Defenders are 9-5 overall and 8-5 in the league after winning three straight matches.
Dordt is averaging 13.3 kills per set with a .244 kill efficiency and has a 56-40 ace serves edge. The Defenders also record 2.4 points per set on blocks while allowing 12.0 kills per set with 1.4 blocks per outing.
Jessi De Jager leads the team with 2.8 kills per set and a .335 kill efficiency. Brenna Krommendyk’s kills per set average is at 2.6 with a .388 kill efficiency and a team high 1.2 blocks per set. Karsyn Winterfeld accounts for 2.5 kills per set and Allison Timmermans 2.4. Winterfeld is also averaging 2.9 digs per set and Hannah Connelly leads in that category with 4.6 digs per set. Corrina Timmermans and Winterfeld lead the team in ace serves with 21 and 10 respectively. Megan Raszler and Corina Beimers have a 7.3 and 4.9 assists per set average respectively as Dordt has utilized mostly a 6-2 offense this season.
Dordt will host Northwestern on Tuesday, October 27 in the regular season finale for the Defenders.
