Dordt Women Host Hastings Monday

Dordt will host Hastings on Monday, December 14th at 5 pm in women’s basketball.

The game was originally supposed to be played this past Saturday, but was rescheduled to Monday.

The Hastings Broncos are 3-4 this season and 3-3 in the GPAC with conference wins over Jamestown, the College of Saint Mary and Doane. The Broncos have losses to Midland, Concordia and Northwestern. Hastings stopped a two game losing streak with an 80-76 win over Doane on Wednesday night.

Hastings is getting outscored by a 75.6-69.6 margin and are getting outrebounded 39.3-31.4. Hastings is converting 40.2 percent of its field goals while opponents are making 44.8 percent.

Dordt is 4-5 this season and 3-3 in the GPAC with wins over Doane, Midland and Jamestown in league play.

Dordt is getting outscored 72.2-70.7 through nine games and outrebound teams 45.1-34.7 but have converted 40.1 percent of its field goals and 32.1 percent of its three-point shots. Teams are making 39.9 percent of its field goals and 34.9 percent of its three-point shots against the Defenders.

Bailey Beckman leads the team with 14.0 points per game average while Erika Feenstra adds 13.4 points per game with 5.9 rebounds and Ashtyn Veerbeek is good for 11.2 points per game with a team high 9.1 rebounds per game. Mya Chmielewski adds 8.0 points per game in a reserve role and Baylee Tetzlaff kicks in 6.4 points per outing. Beckman leads the game with a 2.5 assists per game average and leads the team with 15 steals.

Dordt will be at home against Northwestern on Wednesday, December 16 before traveling to Mount Marty to conclude pre-Christmas play on Saturday, December 19.
