Mitchell, South Dakota — Dordt will travel to face Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell, South Dakota on Wednesday, February 10. The women’s game will start at 6:00 pm.
The Dakota Wesleyan women are 13-8 this season and 11-8 in the GPAC and have lost back to back games to Morningside and Concordia after stringing together four consecutive wins and the Tigers are 8-3 since January 2.
Jason Christensen’s team is averaging 71 points per game while allowing 61.7 per outing. Wesleyan also outrebounds teams 40.5-32.4 and convert 42.4 percent of its field goal attempts while allowing teams to make 36.
Dordt is 13-10 this season and 12-8 in the GPAC after a win over the College of Saint Mary on Saturday, February 6.
Dordt is outscoring teams 72.3-66.3 and outrebound teams 44.7-35.0. Dordt converts 40.5 percent of its field goals while allowing teams to make 37.6 percent. Dordt also has made 32.6 percent of its three-point shots while opponents have made 32.4 percent.
Ashtyn Veerbeek is scoring 14.9 points per game while grabbing 10.0 rebounds per contest and she is making 45.2 percent of her field goal attempts and she is averaging 2.5 assists. Erika Feenstra is good for 13.1 points per game and 5.1 rebounds while converting 49.1 percent of her field goal tries. Karly Gustafson adds 11.3 points per game and she makes 53.5 percent of her field goals and she takes in 6.3 rebounds. Mya Chmielewski and Bailey Tetzlaff add 5.1 and 5.4 points per game respectively. Tetzlaff has 22 steals and Jordyn Winterfeld has 21. Veerbeek is the team leader in three-point baskets made with 32 and a total of nine Defenders have 11 or more three-point baskets made this season.
Dordt used a 21-12 third quarter edge to forge a 70-60 win on December 31 at home. Bailey Beckman scored 15 with four assists and Erika Feenstra and Ashtyn Veerbeek added 14 points and 14 rebounds. Dakota Wesleyan was led by Kirk’s 12 and Matti Reiner’s 11 points and eight rebounds.
Dordt will travel to Briar Cliff on Saturday, February 20 to conclude the regular season while Dakota Wesleyan is scheduled to trave to Mount Marty on February 17 and host Jamestown on February 20.
