Dordt Women Travel To Morningside

Dordt will travel to Sioux City on Wednesday, December 2 to face Morningside. The women’s contest gets underway at 6:00 pm.

Morningside is 4-1 this season and 0-2 in GPAC play with a loss to Benedictine on November 7 the lone blemish. Since that loss the Mustangs have wins over Jamestown (68-61), Dakota State (74-67) and Mount Marty (107-52). The Mustangs have been idle since November 21.

Morningside outscores teams 78.8-59.8 and outrebound teams 38.8-33.2. The Mustangs are shooting for 45 percent success from the field and 44.4 percent from the three-point line. Teams are converting 38.9 percent of their shots against the Mustangs and Morningside defends the arc well while allowing just 25.8 percent success.

Dordt is 2-4 this season with wins over Grand View (75-64) and Midland (70-58) and losses to Dakota State (79-60), Sterling (80-71), Concordia (73-62) and Briar Cliff (.

Dordt is getting outscored 72.2-67.8 through six games. Dordt has outrebounded teams 45.7-37.2 but have converted 36.9 percent of its field goals and 28.4 percent of its three-point shots. Teams are making 40.6 percent of its field goals and 35.2 percent of its three-point shots against the Defenders.

Bailey Beckman leads the team with 14.2 points per game average while Karly Gustafson is averaging 10.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest while converting 50 percent of her field goals. Erika Feenstra adds 11.5 points per game with 5.8 rebounds and Ashtyn Veerbeek is good for 8.8 points per game with a team high 9.0 rebounds per game. Mya Chmielewski adds 6.8 points per game in a reserve role and Jordyn Winterfeld and Baylee Tetzlaff average 4.3 and 4.0 points per game respectively.

Dordt will host Doane on Saturday, December 5 before going to Jamestown on Tuesday, December 8.
