Sioux Center, Iowa — The Dordt University women’s track and field team holds down a top 10 ranking in the fourth installment of the USTFCCCA Indoor Rating Index released Thursday by the national office.
The Defenders are ranked seventh in the Feb.16 edition of the rankings, down one spot from last week. Dordt totaled 129.26 points and are one of four teams from the GPAC ranked among the top 10 (Concordia, Hastings, Doane).
The USTFCCCA ratings are based solely on marks / times recorded during the 2022 indoor season; no previous seasons are used.
Dordt track and field athletes have met the auto (A) standard in six individual events and two relays heading into the conference championship this weekend. The Defenders have hit the ‘B” mark in eight events as well (7 individual and one relay).
Defender athletes have qualified for the conference championship in 16 of the 19 indoor events and have a total of 42 entries competing this weekend.
