Dordt’s Anderson Qualifies For Finals

Joe Anderson qualified for the finals in the 1500m in the only event that took place for the Dordt Defenders in a rain-shortened day one of the 2022 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.

Anderson a former George Little Rock stand out finished with the seventh fastest preliminary time (3:55.6) and advanced to Saturday’s final. Running in a very competitive and strong field in heat two, Anderson was seventh in his heat and ended with a faster time than all of the runners in section one. Saturday’s final will be at 3:10pm.

The remaining two events for the Defender men, the semifinals of the 4×800 and steeplechase, did not take place because of the strong storms. The Defenders will run in the 4×800 on Thursday morning at 11:10am while Eric Steiger, Nic Veldhorst and Peter Shippy will run in the steeplechase at 11:50am.
