Dordt’s Heynen And Wolf Earn Honors From USTFCCCA

The 2021 NAIA Indoor Track and Field Regional Athletes and Coaches of the Year have been announced by the U. S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Dordt’s coaching staff had two members earn honors from the organization.

Craig Heynen has earned the Men’s Coach of the Year for the Midwest Region and Nate Wolf has been named the Men’s Assistant Coach of the Year as well.

Heynen is in his 14th year at Dordt and guided the Defenders to the program’s first crown at the GPAC Indoor Championships while claiming five event crowns. The Defenders have nine athletes with top-10 nationally ranked marks and three relays with top-8 marks while having the top 400, 600, 800 and 1000 group in the #EventSquad Rankings.

Wolf is in his sixth year at Dordt and oversaw the NAIA’s top-rated #EventSquad in the 800 and 1000, as well as no. 2 in the mile. His athletes scored 109 of the team’s 194 points in winning the team title at the GPAC Indoor Championships.
