It’s Drake Relays week and action heats up Tuesday night on the streets of downtown Des Moines with the Grand Blue Mile and the U-S 1 Mile Road Championships. This will be the ninth relays as director for Blake Boldon and he has led the meet during a time that has featured a rapidly changing college athletics landscape as well as the cancellation of the 2020 meet due to the COVID pandemic.
Boldon says the meet has faced numerous challenges during its first 115 years.
Boldon says a challenge going forward may be the changes in high education.
Action in the stadium begins Wednesday with the first of two days of competition in the heptathlon and decathlon.
