Orange City, Iowa — MOC-Floyd Valley swept the Sheldon Orabs in Siouxland Conference action Tuesday night in Orange City.
In the girls game, MOC-Floyd Valley led at all the breaks. After one, the Dutch has a 10-5 lead, and at halftime their lead grew to 26-14. To start the third quarter the Orabs went on an 8-0 run to bring the score to within four, but MOC-Floyd Valley pulled back away and had a 35-28 lead after three. In the fourth quarter, it was all Dutch as they went on to win 51-35.
MOC-Floyd Valley got a game high 19 from Jazlin De Haan. The Orabs’ high scorer was Makenna Kleinhesselink with 17.
With the win MOC-Floyd Valley improves to 2-1 on the year and in the conference. Sheldon falls to 0-4 on the season, and 0-3 in the Siouxland.
The boys game was played beyond the arc with 29 three pointers being made between both contests, as MOC-Floyd Valley held on to win 79-76.
Sheldon had at slim 1 point lead after the opening eight minutes, 22-21. The Orabs extended their lead to 43-41 at the intermission. 20 three pointers were made in the first half between the Dutch and Orabs. MOC-Floyd Valley would take the lead in the third quarter and after three had a 61-57 advantage. The Dutch would seal the game from the free throw line and hold on to win 79-76.
MOC-Floyd Valley had four players in double figures. Keegan Douma had a team high 19, Alex Van Kalsbeek added 15, Eli Haverdink put in 14, and Kyly Christy had 13 points. Sheldon got a game high 24 from Tye Sudbeck, 17 from Jordan Jeffries, and thirteen from Mitchel Wolf.
With the win MOC-Floyd Valley improves to 3-1 on the year, and 3-0 in conference play. Sheldon falls to 0-4 on the season and 0-3 in the Siouxland.
