Fast Start Leads No. 1 Purdue Past Iowa

Top ranked Purdue raced out to a 19-4 lead at the outset and beat Iowa 87-73.

The Hawkeyes cut a 21 point deficit to six in the second half but the Boilers followed with an 8-0 run to put the game away.

That’s Iowa coach Fran McCaffery. Purdue shot 55 percent to improve to 12-2 in the Big Ten.

Iowa falls to 7-6 in the Big Ten and visits Minnesota on Sunday.
