Football Broadcast Preview for Friday October 19th

Northwest Iowa — The regular season comes to a close Friday night. The play off field of 16 in each class of Iowa football will be set shortly after midnight. The Sheldon Orabs finish the regular season at home against Central Lyon George Little Rock while Boyden Hull Rock Valley with the district title wrapped up travel to Sioux Center.

The Orabs come into Friday night with a 5-3 season record and 2-2 district mark. The Lions are 4-4 with a 3-1 district record. Sheldon posted a road win over Okoboji last Friday while CL-G-LR won at home against Sioux Center.

Orab Head Coach Tyler Lloyd talks about being ready to play a physical game.

Turn over margin will be the biggest factor. After that it’s what happens on first down.

Despite the Orabs prolific passing game Lions Head Coach Curtis Eben feels the key to controlling the Sheldon offense is the running game.

Eben sees a lot of his team in the Orabs.

Kory Roos joins LA to bring you the coverage on KIWA AM 1550 and FM 100.7.

Boyden Hull Rock Valley remained in the #2 spot in the latest Radio Iowa 2A poll. They close the regular season at Sioux Center. The Nighthawks have wrapped up the district title with 4-0 mark and are 7-1 on the year. The Warriors are 2-2 in the district and 3-5 on the season. Sioux Center is coming off a road loss at CL-G-LR   last Friday. The Nighthawks were home winners against MOC Floyd Valley.

Nighthawk Head Coach Corey Brandt is impressed with the way the Warriors have been playing.

Brandt puts execution at the top of the list for the Nighthawks this week.

While the Nighthawks offense is well known Warriors Head Coach Tim Van Regenmorter is equally impressed with their defense.

The big key for the Warriors will be to “weather the storm”.

Jon and Justin Hellinga continue our season long coverage of the Nighthawks on KIWA FM 105.3.

Pregame for both begins at 6:05 with the Radio Iowa Scouting Report with opening kick off at 7:00. Following our game coverage listen in for the scoreboard show from 10:00 to 11:30 on KIWA AM 1550 and FM 100.7.
