Northwest Iowa — The 2020 Iowa High School football season moves into week 2 Friday night with Sheldon at South O’Brien  and Boyden Hull Rock Valley hosting West Lyon in Rock Valley. Listen for broadcast coverage of the Orabs on KIWA AM 1550 and 100.7. FM. Season long coverage of the Nighthawks continues on KIWA FM 105.3.

Sheldon opened the season with a home loss to Estherville Lincoln Central. South O’Brien dropped their opener on the road at Sioux Center.

Orab Head Coach Tyler Lloyd considers the Wolverines an identity team and that identity on offense is physicality.

Execution will be the key tonight as in who can better execute their offense.

The Orabs 5 receiver set jumps out at South O’Brien Head Coach Mark Furhman

The keys to a Wolverine win are ball security and time of possession.

The Coach Kory Roos joins LA for the broadcast on FM 100.7 and AM 1550.

The Nighthawks opened the season with a win at Western Christian last Friday. A tough task awaits them in the home opener at Rock Valley as they play host to West Lyon. The Wildcats come in ranked #4 in the latest Radio Iowa Class 2A poll as the defending State 1A Champions moved up a class this year. The Wildcats are coming off a convincing win at Storm Lake last Friday.

Nighthawks Head Coach Corey Brandt wants his team to get better in 3 main areas.

With West Lyon there are a number of things that will get a coaches attention.

We asked West Lyon Head Coach Jay Rozeboom for his assessment of the Nighthawks.

Coach Rozeboom views Boyden Hull Rock Valley as a complete team.

Jon and Justin Hellinga continue full season coverage of Nighthawk football on KIWA FM 105.3. Pregame for both contests will begin at 6:30 from the game sites with opening kickoff set for 7:00. Both games will be streamed from the website at www.kiwaradio.com.
