Former CL/G-LR Lion Reece Vander Zee talks upcoming season for the Hawkeyes

Iowa City, Iowa – Iowa sophomore receiver and former Central Lyon/George-Little Rock standout Reece Vander Zee is hoping to take the next step this fall.

Vander Zee played quarterback as a senior for the Lions and burst onto the scene as a wide out last season with two touchdown catches in a week 1 win over Illinois State. He made eight starts as a freshman and finished with 14 receptions, including three for touchdowns.

As he gains more experience Vander Zee feels he will perform better against press coverage.

The Hawkeyes open the season at home on August 30th against the University of Albany.
