Sioux City, Iowa – A former track and field athlete at George-Little Rock has earned Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Indoor Track-and-Field Athlete-of-the-Week honors as announced by the GPAC Wednesday, January 15th.
Dordt University’s Payton Mauldin was the athlete named. Mauldin, a senior, from George, won two events last weekend at the Defenders home meet, the Dordt Indoor Open. Mauldin’s first win came in the 400m where the senior ran the fastest time in the NAIA and hit the ‘A’ standard (46.45). Mauldin followed by running the anchor leg, a 46.5 split, in the Defenders winning 4×400 relay that hit the ‘A’ standard and ran the NAIA’s fastest time to date.
