The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following men’s outdoor track & field athletes-of-the-week for events held April 1-7, 2024. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Dordt University’s Payton Mauldin, who was a standout at George-Little Rock, is this week’s track athlete-of-the-week. Mauldin, a senior from George, Iowa, won two events and finished as the runner-up in a third at the USD Early Bird Invite held last weekend in Vermillion, S.D. On Friday, Mauldin took first place and hit the ‘A standard with a time of 1:51.06, the No.2 time in the NAIA to date. On Saturday, Mauldin finished second in the 200m and anchored the winning 4×400 relay in the final event of the day. The Defenders 4×400 relay has the No.1 time in the GPAC.
