Former Nighthawk signs with the Minnesota Vikings

According to muliple reports and his agent Drew Rosenhaus via X, former Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley football standout Andrew Van Ginkel has signed a free agent deal with the Minnesota Vikings.

Van Ginkel has played his first five seasons in the National Football League with the team that drafted him in the Miami Dolphins. He has acculmulated 250 total tackles, 94 assists, 17 quarterback sacks and two interceptions that he returned for 56 yards and a touchdown in his career.

The deal is reportedly a two-year contract at $20 million with $14 millon garunteed. Currrent defensive coordinator in Minnesota, Brian Flores, was Van Ginkel’s head coach for two seasons in Miami.
