Friday Broadcast Football Preview For October 18th

Friday marks week eight of the high school football season. On KIWA AM 1550/FM 100.7 Sheldon is on the road at Cherokee. Boyden Hull Rock Valley makes the short trip to MOC Floyd Valley.

Cherokee is 5-2 on the year and 2-2 in the District. The Braves are coming off a win at Unity Christian. Sheldon is 2-5 on the year and 0-4 in the district after a home loss to the state’s number 2 team West Lyon.

Orab Head Coach Andy Cooper on the goals for the season finale.

The keys to the game look like this.

The first thing about Sheldon that jumps out to Cherokee Head Coach Tony Gunther is the Orabs size advantage.

Gunther looks for the game to come down to his Braves ability to run the football.

Listen for Orab football with the LA and the coach Kory Roos on KIWA AM 1550/FM 100.7.

The Nighthawks are 1-6 on the season and 0-3 in the district after a home loss to Bishop Heelan. The Crusaders came in ranked #9 in 3A where they remain this week. MOC Floyd Valley is 4-3 on the year and 1-2 in the District.

Head Coach Jayme Rozeboom has a very positive impression of MOC Floyd Valley QB Blake Aalbers.

Rozeboom on the importance of a fast start.

MOC Floyd Valley Head Coach Grant Hegstead on the Nighthawks.

The biggest key for MOC Floyd Valley is what the Dutch bring to the game.

Jon and Justin Hellinga continue to bring you season long coverage of the Nighthawks on KIWA FM 105.3. Pregame for both contests begins at 6:30 with kick off at 7:00. Both games streamed at www.kiwaradio.com. With the Orabs at home there will be a video stream as well.
