Friday Football Broadcast Preview

The Boyden Hull Rock Valley Nighthawks begin their playoff push on Friday with a first round game at Osage. The Green Devils are unbeaten at 8-0 as the District 3 Champions. The Nighthawks come in at 4-4 out of District 1. The Class 2A first rounder will be broadcast on KIWA FM 105.3 and streamed at www.kiwaradio.com. Pregame at 6:30 with kickoff at 7:00.

The Nighthawk offense revolves around quarterback Kaden Van Schepen. The senior has completed 86-of-155 passes for 1100 yards and 9 touchdowns. He’s rushed for 869 yards and 7 scores. Osage counters with UNI recruit Quinn Street. A senior Street has completed 86-of-136 passing attempts for 1470 yards and 14 touchdowns. He’s rushed for an additional 1038 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Defensively the Nighthawks are led by senior Jaivyn Van Grootheest with 29.5 tackles with 3.5 for a loss and 1 fumble recovery. Osage counters with a senior of their own in Brock Trees. His line includes 66.5 tackles, 9.5 for a loss and 1 fumble recovery to go with 1 interception.

Nighthawks Head Coach Jayme Rozeboom feels the best thing about his team is their ability to believe.

For the Nighthawks to get to the round of 16 it will need to happen 1 play at a time on Friday night.

Osage Head Coach Chris Kyhl is impressed with the Nighthawks shear size and their trigger man at quarterback.

For the Green Devils the keys to a win begin with ball security.
