Gesink Earns GPAC Honor

Dordt_Defenders logoSioux Center, Iowa — Jamie Gesink has been named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Setter of the Week for matches played October 27-November 1.

Gesink had 80 assists (11.43 per set) in a pair of wins last for 7th-ranked Dordt. She also added 21 digs, five blocks and nine kills–four of which came in a sweep of then no. 16 Concordia.

Gesink is currently averaging 10.7 assists per set with 2.47 digs and she has 25 service aces this season which ranks second for the Defenders. Gesink also has recorded seven solo blocks with 37 assisted blocks and she has 81 kills in 94 sets played.

“Jamie had another great week along with our team. From her numbers, it is obvious how many different categories she contributes to our success. She is well deserving of this recognition,” said Dordt College coach Chad Hanson.

Dordt College concludes the 2015 regular season Wednesday night, November 4 against Northwestern.
