The University of Minnesota football team is set to open fall camp this week on campus. Golden Gopher head coach P-J Fleck says he is excited to get back to practice, saying “summer is over” and his team is ready.
He says his players were committed to getting better this offseason and were focused both on the field and off the field. Minnesota was 9-4 last season, including a win over Wisconsin to close the regular season and a bowl game win over West Virginia in Arizona in December. Golden Gopher head coach P-J Fleck says it is great to get fall camp started this week.
Fleck says it is hard to believe he is embarking on his sixth season in Minneapolis and 10th as a head coach.
Fleck likes the work his team put in during the offseason.
The coach adds this team has a way about them that he likes.
Fleck says his team has worked hard to bond with off the field activities this past summer, as well.
The Gophers open the 2022 season on Thursday, September 1st against New Mexico State at Huntington Bank Stadium at 8 P-M.
