Sioux City, Iowa – Honors for the 2026 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Indoor Track and Field Season have been announced. The 2026 GPAC Indoor Track and Field Championships were this past Friday and Saturday at Dordt University on the Holwerda Indoor Track inside the Dordt Recreation Center.
The top Track and Field Performances-of-the-Meet and the Coaching Staff-of-the-Year honors were voted on by the league coaches. GPAC Athlete-of-the-Meet honors went to the highest individual point scorers in the meet. The GPAC Athletes-of-the-Meet winners are the GPAC Athletes-of-the-Year.
The Outstanding Performances -of-the-Meet were voted on by the league coaches and are as follows:
Women’s Track Performance –
Tania Gleason, Doane – 200 Meters, 24.41 – GPAC Record (also on record setting 4×400, went below standing record mark entering the day in 60 meters)
Women’s Field Performance –
Lucy Carey, Hastings – Pentathlon, 3,363 Points
Men’s Track Performance –
Logan Ferrari, Mount Marty – 5,000 Meters, 14:51.84 – GPAC Record
Men’s Field Performance –
Braden Kalvelage, Northwestern – Long Jump, 24-05.50
Eight GPAC Championship Records were broken this past weekend in Sioux Center:
Women’s 60 Meter Hurdles – Adrianna Rodencal, Concordia – 8.42
Women’s 60 Meter Dash – Neryah Hekl, Doane – 7.47
Women’s 200 Meter Dash – Tania Gleason, Doane – 24.41
Women’s 4×800 Relay – Morningside (Morgan Sachs, Madison Sporrer, Jolee Mesz, Courtney Sporrer) – 9:22.70
Women’s 4×400 Relay – Doane (Kat Vogt, Tania Gleason, Kiley Hejtmanek, Jaden Meyer) – 3:52.63
Men’s 5,000 Meters – Logan Ferrari, Mount Marty -14:51.84
Men’s 800 Meters – Koen Steenblok, Midland – 1:53.62
Men’s 200 Meters – Braden Kalvelage, Northwestern – 21.71
Tania Gleason from Doane was named the Female GPAC Athlete-of-the-Meet scoring 28 points. Braden Kalvelage from Northwestern was named the Male GPAC Athlete-of-the-Meet scoring 26 points. Both will be honored as the Hauff Mid-America Sports GPAC Indoor Track and Field Athletes-of-the-Year.
Craig Heynen and the Dordt staff have been named the Jim McMahon – Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women’s Indoor Coach/Program-of-the-Year. The Defenders won the women’s title on Saturday with 200 points.

Ed Fye and the Doane staff have been named the Fred Beile – Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men’s Coach/Program-of-the-Year. The Tigers won the men’s title on Saturday with a GPAC Record 240 points.
The top eight in each event and top three relays are considered GPAC All-Conference for Indoor Track and Field. The 2026 NAIA National Indoor Track and Field Championships are March 5-7 at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville, Florida.
