GPAC Men’s Soccer Tournament Pairings Announced

Sioux City, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Postseason Men’s Soccer Tournament, presented by Cypress Risk Management, will open on Saturday, April 10, 2021, with quarterfinal round action. The 2020 GPAC Men’s Soccer Tournament was moved to the spring of 2021 because of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

4th Seed Northwestern, under the direction of head coach Dan Swier, closed its fall season on a six-game win streak and finished fourth in the GPAC regular season with an 8-3 record. The Raiders posted a perfect 6-0 record at home and hold a 10-3 record as they head into the spring season. The other match in the top half of the tournament bracket pits No.1 seed Morningside playing host to #8 Dakota Wesleyan; the winners will face off in the GPAC semifinals on April 13 at the highest remaining seed. The GPAC Championship will be played on Friday, April 16.

Coach Swier’s squad will play three non-conference games in the spring in preparation for the conference tournament They will play Clarke on March 20, followed by matches against William Penn and Viterbo; all three matches will be on the road.
