GPAC Men’s Tournament Soccer Pairings

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Postseason Men’s Soccer Tournament will open on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, with quarterfinal round action.

The top seed in the tournament is regular season co-champion Northwestern (10-1 GPAC, 30 pts.), while Briar Cliff (also co-champion) is the two seed (10-1 GPAC, 30 pts.). The three seed is Hastings (8-2-1 GPAC, 25 pts.). The fourth seed for the tournament is Morningside (8-3 GPAC, 24 pts.). The five seed goes to Concordia (5-4-2 GPAC, 17 pts.), with the six seed to Midland (5-6 GPAC, 15 pts.). The seventh seed is Jamestown (4-5-2 GPAC, 14 pts.) and the eighth seed is Mount Marty (4-7 GPAC, 12 pts.). Ties were broken by head-to-head competition results during the regular season.

Three points were awarded for every conference win, one for each tie, and no points for a conference loss in the GPAC standings.

The semifinals will be played on Saturday, November 6, with the finals on Thursday, November 11.

The winner of the GPAC Tournament will advance, as the league’s second automatic representative, to the NAIA National Men’s Soccer National Championship Opening Round (on November 18-20). If the regular season co-champion (Northwestern) wins the Tournament, Briar Cliff (as two seed and co-champion) will receive the second NAIA berth to the postseason.

The NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship Final Site is in Decatur, Alabama, November 30 – December 6, 2021, at the Jack Allen Soccer Complex.
