GPAC Women’s Volleyball Tournament Pairings

Sioux City, Iowa – The University of Jamestown will be the number one seed when the Cypress Risk Management Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Volleyball Tournament opens on Saturday, April 3. The 2020 GPAC Volleyball Tournament was moved to the spring of 2021 because of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

The Jimmies are the top seed after winning the regular season in the fall with a 15-1 record. The two seed will be Northwestern, who finished with a league record of 13-3 . Concordia will be the third seed after finishing league play at 12-3. Dordt will be final host in the quarterfinals, as the four seed, after ending 11-5 in conference play.

Midland will be the five seed (9-7), with Dakota Wesleyan as the six seed (8-8). Hastings will be the seventh seed (7-8) and Morningside will be the eighth seed (7-9).

Jamestown will receive the GPAC regular season automatic berth to the NAIA National Volleyball Championship. The Cypress Risk Management GPAC Volleyball Tournament winner (runner-up if Jamestown wins) also receives an automatic berth to the NAIA National Volleyball Championship.

The 2020 NAIA Volleyball National Championship, which is being played this spring, includes a field of 48 teams. All 48 teams will play in an opening round matches played on campus sites nationwide on April 17. The opening round winners will play at the final site for a 24-team pool play NAIA National Championship April 27-May 1, 2021, in Sioux City at the Tyson Events Center.
