Gramstad Named GPAC Offensive Player Of The Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following football players-of-the-week for games played the week of September 18-24, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-24 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Offense – Jalyn Gramstad, Quarterback (Northwestern College)
Northwestern quarterback Jalyn Gramstad is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Gramstad, a junior from Lester, Iowa, threw for a new career-high of 397 yards with four touchdowns in the Red Raider 42-0 road win over Mount Marty. He completed 73.5% percent of his passes with a long of 64 yards, averaging 11.7 yards per completion. It marks the first time in his career he has thrown for over 300 yards in a game. Additionally, he added one rushing score and 22 yards on the ground as he had a hand in five of the six Red Raider touchdowns.

Defense – Isaac Pingel, Linebacker (Morningside University)
Linebacker Isaac Pingel of Morningside University is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Pingel, a junior, from Spencer, Iowa, led a Mustang defense in a 48-17 win over Midland. He accumulated 10 total tackles, including seven solo tackles, two pass breakups, and an interception that he returned 53 yards for a touchdown.

Special Teams – Blake Brown, Wide Receiver (Morningside University)
Blake Brown of Morningside University is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Special Teams Player-of-the-Week. Brown, a sophomore from Wakefield, Nebraska, made the most of his opportunity on special teams. He had one of Morningside’s three defensive or special teams touchdowns, recovering a Midland fumble on a kickoff and returning it 16 yards for a Mustang touchdown.
