Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Cross Country Runners-of-the Week
Women – Emily Haverdink, Northwestern College
Emily Haverdink of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Haverdink, a freshman from Orange City, Iowa, finished in first at the Herb Blakely Invitational just one week after being the top NAIA finisher at the Augustana Twilight. She led the Northwestern women to their first team title since 2011 on a difficult course in Madison. She finished eleven seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
Men – Joe Anderson, Dordt University
Joe Anderson of Dordt University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Anderson, a senior from George, Iowa, finished fourth at the SDSU Invite, a meet comprised of primarily NCAA Division I and Division II teams and athletes. He ran a personal-best time of 25:17, 20 seconds faster than his previous best. Anderson helped lead the third-ranked Defenders to a third-place finish.
